See behind the scenes of digital retouching and get your photos manipulated. Leave a comment if you're feeling adventurous or have something to say. I do bite sometimes.
If you don’t know what dodging and burning is or if you don’t know how to do it non-destructively, you absolutely have to watch the following video tutorial. This tip is truly invaluable.
Photoshop Killer Tips, Non-Destructive Dodge And Burn by Matt Kloskowski
Photo retouching isn’t something that is done only to pictures of Angelina Jolie. Brad Pitt needs it just as much. Sure, guys don’t need blush, lip gloss and eye shadow, but we, too, come with human imperfections, like wrinkles, baggy eyes, hair loss, big noses and thin lips, just to name a few.
I get pictures of women for retouching far more often than pictures of men. I don’t know if that’s because of my demographic or just because women tend to be more vain eager to look good. Anyway, sometimes guys do send me their photos which is nice for a change.

The photo was also cropped and rotated slightly, which the mouse over doesn’t show. Here is the original before Photoshop and here is the after.

I just got an important note and thought I would share it with you all.

Dear Buikhu,
It has come to my attention that your blogging schedule has been quite erratic, even completely random, for far too long. As you should know, I do not tolerate such behavior, and therefore, I have no other choice but to enforce a proper schedule, as follows:
New manipulations: Mondays and Thursdays, due no later than 1700 (5 pm) Pacific Time.
Other related posts: Saturdays, due no later than 1700 (5 pm) Pacific Time.
Photos that are good to begin with are a joy to retouch, it’s like cooking with quality ingredients. Just don’t get too excited and overdo it. Too much salt can ruin any meal.
This is what I had for dinner. Mouse over to see the Before:
Overall, I wanted her to look less like a hamburger and more like a carrot so I gave her beta-carotene. Her eyes were already beautiful and green but kind of dry looking and perhaps not green enough. A few drops of olive oil took care of that. And that was basically the recipe. I told you, very simple, yet very good.
Ok, enough of food talk, I’m getting hungry.
Spicy equals yummy,
Buikhu
