Photos that are good to begin with are a joy to retouch, it’s like cooking with quality ingredients. Just don’t get too excited and overdo it. Too much salt can ruin any meal.
This is what I had for dinner. Mouse over to see the Before:
Overall, I wanted her to look less like a hamburger and more like a carrot so I gave her beta-carotene. Her eyes were already beautiful and green but kind of dry looking and perhaps not green enough. A few drops of olive oil took care of that. And that was basically the recipe. I told you, very simple, yet very good.
Ok, enough of food talk, I’m getting hungry.
Spicy equals yummy,

Wow, the original looks so plain but what you did with it is incredible, I absolutely love how clear her face is, how much it stands out.
But here’s a challenge for you, can ou do this using Gimp as well?
OMG the after is fantastic! I’m going to need you to doctor all of my pics. LOL
You’re a wizard!!! I totally need you to teach me!!! I can take pictures, but have little clue what to do with them after that!
That is amazing! Hey, she even lost a couple pounds due to your manipulation! LOL

Wow… That’s a really great edit, she looks even more amazing now, but she *still looks like herself*. I’m impressed.
Ooh, so many wonderful comments. I must be doing something right. Thank you!
@Lisa: Me too, but it increases Page Load Time slightly.
@Carl: GIMP oh GIMP… I love it to pieces but it makes me dizzy.
I can’t resist challenges, though, so I’m going to have to take some
phenothiazine and GIMP one out.
Should have went fer a bigger cup size
Took a few pounds off also - that’s always good for acolades.
Seriously -that is a great job with the brushes and buttons.
This is nice. I really enjoy the before/after. Is there some place you have a step-by-step of what you did?
@simplyRik:
The result is a combination of the following Photoshop tools and features: Shadow/Highlight, Lighting Effects, Healing Brush, warping, dodging and burning, Color Balance, Selective Color, Curves, Brightness/Contrast, Levels, Hue/Saturation and Smart Sharpen.
Sorry, I don’t have a step-by-step tutorial because there was too much improvising involved.
